Despite more than 20,000 healthcare-related smartphone apps available in the marketplace today, a 2012 Pew Research Center study found that only ten percent of smartphone users have downloaded a healthcare app.  Read Original Content

Federal Trade Commissioner Julie Brill, speaking in Washington, expressed concern about the way apps on smartphones and mobile devices are siphoning sensitive health data, and how some of that information may then be shared with third parties. Representatives Mike Thompson (D-Calif.) and Glenn Thompson (R-Penn.) are set to announce a new telehealth bill soon.
