Actuate to Host Global “BIRT Live!” Free Seminar Series to Deliver BIRT Information and Training to Developers, IT Managers and OEMs

Actuate Corporation (NASDAQ: BIRT), The BIRT Company and the leader in personalized analytics and insights, today announced a series of twelve BIRT Live!” training and networking events, starting February 12th, 2014, in eight major U.S. cities and in four international cities. The free events will open with discussions of best practices and market direction to help organizations anticipate user demands and deliver stronger customer engagement and loyalty through more effective application design. An introduction and overview of the report- and dashboard-building features of BIRT will follow. Attendees can learn how BIRT iHub™ can be used to create infinitely scalable, data-driven internal or external customer applications that can be easily embedded into existing applications – especially web applications based on Java and Java EE – whether they are delivered on mobile/touch devices, on premise, or from the cloud.

In addition to seeing and experiencing BIRT’s visual drag-and-drop design environment, live demos will go one step further to demonstrate how BIRT enables real time, interactive data visualizations and analytics. The afternoon will feature hands-on, complimentary BIRT training – valued at $600 – on how to build reliable and secure web-based applications.

“Whether an organization wants to extract more value from Big Data, drive higher end-user engagement, deliver information on mobile or touch devices, or upgrade older information applications; compelling data visualizations and analytics are not only useful today, they are expected,” said David Rosenbacher, Vice President of Worldwide Sales Engineering at Actuate. “BIRT Live! attendees will learn tips and tricks that can help their internal or external customers by providing them with an effective and personalized online application experience.”

There are 182 billion emails sent every day, generating a lot of data about how recipients and ISPs respond. That we should consider a firm to be analytically deficient or poor is a profound comment on our modern ag...

General Electric (GE) has been a household name for more than a century, thanks in large part to its role in making households easier to run. Starting with the light bulb invented by its founder, Thomas Edison, GE has been selling devices (“things”) to consumers throughout its 122-year history. Last week, GE announced that it is officially leaving that job to others. While the lighting division will stay, GE will now turn its attention to selling industrial machinery and analytics as a service t...
It's time to condense all I've seen, heard, and learned about the IoT into a fun, easy-to-remember guide. Without further ado, here are Five (5) Things About the Internet of Things: 1. It's the end-state of Moore's Law. It's easy enough to debunk the IoT as “nothing new.” After all, we've have embedded systems for years.
