Realtime.co to Launch Real-Time Cloud Storage Service Running on Amazon DynamoDB

New Realtime Cloud Storage Solution Offers Unlimited Scalability to Web Applications Like Babblr

SANTA MONICA, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 10/15/13 -- Realtime.co (http://www.realtime.co), creator of the fastest Web 3.0 messaging framework, today announced the launch of its new Realtime Cloud Storage. This offers customers an infinitely scalable cloud storage infrastructure to sit behind their applications in order to deliver their end users a dynamic web or mobile service. This managed cloud storage service runs on solid-state drives and is built to maintain consistent, fast latencies at any scale.

This allows customers to build mobile and web-scale collaboration apps, for messaging, online group working and co-operation, without worrying about the underlying infrastructure. For example, by leveraging Realtime's robust, cloud-based framework, built on Amazon DynamoDB, Tumblr's real-time chat client, Babblr, can send users real-time notifications within milliseconds when a new message is posted.

"By leveraging Amazon DynamoDB companies like Realtime are able to give their customers a fast, global, scalable and reliable end user experience. Customers can focus on their business solutions and offload the management of the underlying infrastructure to Realtime and AWS," said Terry Wise, Head of Worldwide Partnerships, Amazon Web Services.

"We are very happy to partner with Realtime, which gives us access to the world's fastest real-time messaging system and to Realtime's Cloud Storage Service that is powering Babblr. Its powerful real-time data synchronization features and APIs allowed Babblr to quickly replace the initial storage solution and be ready to confidently handle millions of Tumblr users," said Brandon Sowers, Babblr Co-Founder.

Designed for Internet-scale applications, Realtime's Cloud Storage is particularly suited for consumer and enterprise online collaborative solutions, such as online games, social networks or corporate sales force platforms due to its powerful real-time notification features.

"Today's web-based applications increasingly depend on real-time messaging and database performance so Realtime Cloud Storage is the perfect match, all in one API. This enterprise grade API is great news for developers which allows them to focus on their core business," said Andre Parreira, Founder and CEO, Realtime.co.

Realtime Cloud Storage is a fully managed database service that removes the administrative burden of operating distributed databases. Realtime Cloud Storage uses Amazon DynamoDB, a fully managed NoSQL database service that provides fast and predictable performance with seamless scalability.

Realtime has over 3,000 global clients, delivering an average of over 1.5 million messages per second, with a worldwide footprint that surpasses 800 million user-connections every 24 hours.

DXWorldEXPO Digital Transformation Stories
In a recent survey, Sumo Logic surveyed 1,500 customers who employ cloud services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). According to the survey, a quarter of the respondents have already deployed Docker containers and nearly as many (23 percent) are employing the AWS Lambda serverless computing framework. It's clear: serverless is here to stay. The adoption does come with some needed changes, within both application development and operations. Th...
Docker and Kubernetes are key elements of modern cloud native deployment automations. After building your microservices, common practice is to create docker images and create YAML files to automate the deployment with Docker and Kubernetes. Writing these YAMLs, Dockerfile descriptors are really painful and error prone.Ballerina is a new cloud-native programing language which understands the architecture around it - the compiler is environment aware of microservices directly deployable into infra...
When Enterprises started adopting Hadoop-based Big Data environments over the last ten years, they were mainly on-premise deployments. Organizations would spin up and manage large Hadoop clusters, where they would funnel exabytes or petabytes of unstructured data. However, over the last few years the economics of maintaining this enormous infrastructure compared with the elastic scalability of viable cloud options has changed this equation. The growth of cloud storage, cloud-managed big data e...

In an age of borderless networks, security for the cloud and security for the corporate network can no longer be separated. Security teams are now presented with the challenge of monitoring and controlling access to these cloud environments, at the same time that developers quickly spin up new cloud instances and executives push forwards new initiatives. The vulnerabilities created by migration to the cloud, such as misconfigurations and compromised credentials, require that security teams t...
