Turk Telecom and Nakina Systems Win Prestigious COMET Award for Innovative Collaborations

Nakina Systems, the leading provider of carrier grade management and security solutions, along with Turk Telekom, won one of the 2013 COMET Innovation awards in the category of “Innovative Collaborations."

Doug Bellinger, CTO of Nakina Systems, said, “We hosted a panel session in the stream of 'Big Data Analytics' at TMForum Management World in Nice. Turk Telekom disclosed that close to 5 million VLANs and upwards of 3.3 million E-pipes are expected to be discovered and reconciled through the course of this project. This required close to 60,000 Network Devices to be brought under management by Nakina Systems.”

Nakina’s technology for synchronizing the Packet Core network with the OSS and BSS systems is the first step toward achieving a vision of NFV (Network Function Virtualization).

Pipeline Magazine is the sponsor of the COMET awards which provides the highest level of objective endorsement for Innovations and through leadership in the Communications and Entertainment Technology Industry.

Accepting the award, at the red carpet gala event in Nice, France were Mehmet Tefon, Group Manager and Cengizhan Turgut, Team Leader at Turk Telekom.

Zekeriya Erkan, Manager - Operations Management systems of Turk Telekom said, “This award shows that we are following the right path. Both Nakina and Turk Telekom worked together in a collaborative way. This award also proves the success that is a result of collaboration and a partnership based on trust.”

Cevat İKİBAŞ, Solution Manager for AD&R Project OSS domain added, “Our IP/MPLS network and Granite OSS will be fully synchronized. A daily discovery and reconciliation process contributes to the usage of Turk Telekom’s existing network in an efficient way. This will of course further provide efficient investment strategy and increased customer satisfaction. We are determined to complete the second phase of the Project as planned and gain the full advantages of the discovery system.”

AI and machine learning disruption for Enterprises started happening in the areas such as IT operations management (ITOPs) and Cloud management and SaaS apps. In 2019 CIOs will see disruptive solutions for Cloud & Devops, AI/ML driven IT Ops and Cloud Ops. Customers want AI-driven multi-cloud operations for monitoring, detection, prevention of disruptions. Disruptions cause revenue loss, unhappy users, impacts brand reputation etc.
The benefits of automated cloud deployments for speed, reliability and security are undeniable. The cornerstone of this approach, immutable deployment, promotes the idea of continuously rolling safe, stable images instead of trying to keep up with managing a fixed pool of virtual or physical machines. In this talk, we'll explore the immutable infrastructure pattern and how to use continuous deployment and continuous integration (CI/CD) process to build and manage server images for any platform....
Containers and Kubernetes allow for code portability across on-premise VMs, bare metal, or multiple cloud provider environments. Yet, despite this portability promise, developers may include configuration and application definitions that constrain or even eliminate application portability. In this session we'll describe best practices for "configuration as code" in a Kubernetes environment. We will demonstrate how a properly constructed containerized app can be deployed to both Amazon and Azure ...

Using serverless computing has a number of obvious benefits over traditional application infrastructure - you pay only for what you use, scale up or down immediately to match supply with demand, and avoid operating any server infrastructure at all. However, implementing maintainable and scalable applications using serverless computing services like AWS Lambda poses a number of challenges. The absence of long-lived, user-managed servers means that states cannot be maintained by the service. Lo...
