In a 2012 pilot, InsightsOne, working with the Informatics and Service Operations group at IBC, applied cutting edge machine learning technology to identify members who required proactive outreach and resolve issues even before they call. IBC saw how this information could enable them to take a proactive rather than a reactive approach. In addition, the predictive analysis helped IBC to not only increase customer satisfaction but also identify members most likely to have service needs.

"IBC is leading the way with their use of Big Data and Machine Learning and is really demonstrating their commitment to customer satisfaction," said Waqar Hasan, CEO of InsightsOne.

IBC also used InsightsOne in member acquisition campaigns to help identify potential customers who were likely to purchase IBC's specific insurance products.

InsightsOne exploits the vast amounts of data that insurers have, allowing them to increase the performance of their inbound and outbound marketing efforts and to increase their overall customer satisfaction.

InsightsOne's insurance solution complies with healthcare regulations and member confidentiality, while leveraging detailed call center notes, claims, consumer attribute and multi-channel behavior data, as well as other information in a safe and secure manner. The result is very precise predictions of consumer wants and needs.

"InsightsOne's vision is to allow our customer to deliver a superior and personalized experience to every consumer," said Hasan. "We continue to demonstrate that this will make our customers' customers and prospects happier, while simultaneously increasing our customers' bottom lines."

The standardization of container runtimes and images has sparked the creation of an almost overwhelming number of new open source projects that build on and otherwise work with these specifications. Of course, there's Kubernetes, which orchestrates and manages collections of containers. It was one of the first and best-known examples of projects that make containers truly useful for production use. However, more recently, the container ecosystem has truly exploded. A service mesh like Istio addr...

When building large, cloud-based applications that operate at a high scale, it’s important to maintain a high availability and resilience to failures. In order to do that, you must be tolerant of failures, even in light of failures in other areas of your application. “Fly two mistakes high” is an old adage in the radio control airplane hobby. It means, fly high enough so that if you make a mistake, you can continue flying with room to still make mistakes. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, Lee A...
