Covata Announces Major Contract with Australian Government Agencies

Covata Australia Pty Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cocoon Data Holdings Limited, has executed a major contract with several Australian Government Agencies. For this contract, Covata Secure Objects technology has been implemented to facilitate up to Protected Level1 secure large file transfers between multiple agencies, allowing for protected, secure communications inside and outside the agencies’ domain. This is a first for multi-government agency communications, and extends data level security outside the traditional organisational secure internal domain.

“This is a significant milestone for Covata Australia and we are very pleased to be able to work and build our relationship with the Australian Government, being able to extend our data centric solution to many other agencies, enabling them to securely communicate cross-domain.” said Pete Janke, CEO of Covata.

Covata is a global leader in Enterprise Data Protection, securing data at the data object level. Covata’s innovative data access rights management, unmatched persistent originator control and standards-based encryption enables Covata to protect data at rest, in motion and in use. The Covata originator controls can define who, what and how many times secure data can be accessed; persisting beyond the distribution of the data and external of the organisational domain; with the ability to instantly revoke access to any data objects, anytime, anywhere. Covata calls this comprehensive, flexible data protection Self-Defending Data.

With the Covata solutions offering complete visibility of all activity undertaken on the data, the ownership and control of sensitive data that is integral to the successful secure distribution of information between these agencies can be guaranteed.

"We are delivering a certified solution that answers the data security needs of government agencies and commercial businesses looking to protect their high value information assets wherever they reside, by creating self-defending data Covata protects the data at the data object level independent of the infrastructure security,” said Janke

A complete list of Covata’s certifications is available on the Certifications page of the company web site (www.COVATA.com). Covata has offices in Australia and the US.

1 Protected Level – defines the classification level of the government document/information.
