Cirro Announces Support for EMC’s Pivotal Hadoop Distribution

Cirro , the company that enables simplified Big Data access, exploration, and analysis across heterogeneous data sources, today announced their support for EMC’s new Pivotal HD™ Hadoop distribution. Pivotal HD natively integrates the industry-leading EMC Greenplum massively parallel processing (MPP) database with Apache Hadoop—the most cost-effective and flexible open source Big Data platform ever developed.

“We’re honored to be part of the inaugural launch of Pivotal HD,” said Mark Theissen, CEO, Cirro. “Our partnership and commitment to Pivotal HD continues our support of Greenplum and EMC offerings, providing customers with the ability to perform on-the-fly analytics across all data sources in their data ecosystems.”

Cirro provides an execution platform that seamlessly facilitates the joining of Greenplum relational data or Pivotal HD along with other data sources while optimizing, orchestrating, and managing the overall query processing. With Cirro, analysts are free to explore and uncover value by iteratively asking questions about their data regardless of the data type, location, or environment.

"The Cirro–EMC Pivotal HD announcement will allow analysts to concurrently join Pivotal HD data sources with any or all external data sources using traditional BI or visualization tools," states Krishna Roy, Analyst Enterprise Software, 451 Research. “Cirro removes the barrier of data access, integration and analysis for your data ecosystem.”

Visit the Cirro booth (#211) at the 2013 Strata Conference from February 26-28, 2012 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, Ca. to learn how Cirro’s Enterprise Data Hub platform delivers the ability to query and integrate data from Hadoop, No SQL and traditional data sources for on-the-fly analytics leveraging your existing business intelligence and data visualization tools.
