Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/4bg25m/global_cloud) has announced the addition of the "Global Cloud Storage Gateway Market 2012-2016" report to their offering.
TechNavio's analysts forecast the Global Cloud Storage Gateway market to grow at a CAGR of 84.64 percent over the period 2012-2016. One of the key factors contributing to this market growth is the better measures for data recovery. The Global Cloud Storage Gateway market has also been witnessing the growth in archiving on the public cloud storages. However, the increasing number of end-user locations could pose a challenge to the growth of this market.
The key vendors dominating this market space are CTERA Networks Ltd., Emulex Corp., Nirvanix Inc., and Riverbed Technology Inc.
The other vendors mentioned in the report are Amazon Web Services LLC., TwinStrata Inc., StorSimple Inc., Panzura Inc., Carbonite Inc., Evault Inc., and Persistent Systems Ltd.
Commenting on the report, an analyst from TechNavio's Data Centers team said: ''The Global cloud storage gateway (CSG) market is witnessing a rapid increase in the demand for data archiving facilities. Enterprises have realized the need to archive their data and are finding that public cloud storage mediums provide the most efficient means to do so. As a result of the decreasing costs of cloud-based storage services, and the increasing reliability of these services, enterprises are finding it efficient to adopt cloud-based storage. With the growing demand for cloud-based storage, there is a growing demand for CSGs. CSGs act as conduits for the transfer and storage of data from enterprise infrastructure to cloud storage infrastructure.''
According to the report, enterprises are increasingly adopting cloud-based storage services. Applications and data are hosted on cloud-based storage devices. Cloud-based storage vendors make use of CSGs, which help in monitoring the data traffic and also ensure the safety of the data being accessed. If there is any interruption in service or any application fails to execute in the cloud, a CSG initiates a disaster recovery procedure to safeguard the data and the applications from being disrupted. The ability of CSGs to safeguard the data in cloud-based storage is driving the Global CSG market.

By Jeremy Geelan The rise of cloud computing has exposed hard drive-based storage as the new data center bottleneck. Combating this, data center managers have deployed SSDs to gain the performance needed to provide real-time access to data. However, due to budget constraints, many have turned to consumer-grade SSDs without understanding that they wear out quickly when processing enterprise workloads. In this session, Esther Spanjer will discuss recent endurance advancements in SSD technology that enable usage of...May. 25, 2013 10:00 AM EDT Reads: 2,890 |
